Dr. Allison S. Piper
Why Dentistry?
Dr. Allison S. Piper’s journey into dentistry began with a passion for helping others. Originally exploring several career paths, she discovered her love for dentistry while volunteering as a dental assistant for Boston Healthcare for the Homeless. This experience sparked her dedication to providing personalized, high-quality care.
Since purchasing and renaming Belfast Dental Care in 2014, Dr. Piper has built on the 40-year legacy of Dr. John Slaughter, focusing on excellence in dentistry and creating an exceptional experience for every patient.

Outside the Office
- Born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York
- Spent summers visiting family in Franklin, Maine
- Moved to Belfast in 2012 to be closer to family
- Enjoys spending time with family and friends
- Values the support of her community, both personally and professionally
- Believes in making each day great with her positive outlook

- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2011
- Undergraduate studies at Boston University
- Hands-on experience with Boston Healthcare for the Homeless as a volunteer dental assistant
Dr. Valerie T. Wright
Why Dentistry?
Dr. Valerie Wright began her career in dentistry as a hygienist before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of New England. A past President of the UNE chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists, she is passionate about advancing women in dentistry and serving her community.
Her practice focuses on dental implants, full mouth rehabilitation, and cosmetic treatments — using both skill and artistry to help patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. Recognized with the Student Achievement Award from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dr. Wright is dedicated to improving not just oral health, but overall quality of life.

Outside the Office
- Enjoys spending family time in state parks
- Loves gardening and creating acrylic paintings inspired by Bob Ross
