Navigating sleep apnea treatment

01

Diagnosis and Evaluation

We begin with screening for potential sleep apnea events. If we detect signs of sleep apnea, we’ll refer you to your primary care provider or to one of our trusted telehealth care providers for a full diagnostic test.

02

Custom Treatment Planning

Our sleep apnea specialists will explore treatment options with you. We offer oral appliance therapy with a custom-fabricated mandibular advancement device. These devices are designed to gently shift the lower jaw forward to keep your airway open which reduces your snoring, and greatly improves your breathing.

03

Ongoing Support and Adjustment

Our Belfast sleep apnea dentist and team will support you throughout your entire treatment, ensuring that your mandibular advancement device is comfortable and effective.

What to expect during sleep apnea treatment

Here’s what you can expect from our sleep apnea screening and treatment process:

  1. Screening for sleep apnea events: We’ll perform an initial screening to identify signs of sleep apnea and, if necessary, refer you for a diagnostic test.
  2. Referral for diagnosis: If sleep apnea is detected, we’ll refer you to your primary care provider or one of our trusted telehealth care providers for a full sleep study. Most patients can complete a home sleep study in the comfort of their bed.
